MY JOURNEY

Following my time “in jail” I worked for Diamond Healthcare and provided inpatient coverage to their psychiatric hospital in Williamsburg.  In addition, I provided psychiatric medication management for the aging population at several skilled nursing facilities.  During this time, the relationship between mind and body, especially in the elderly, proved vital to a client’s success.  Sessions outside or helping them with ADL’s were common.  Collaborating with case managers, physical therapists, dieticians, families, nursing staff and managers of the facilities was essential because, honestly, everything can impact our mental health.

When I joined Zoe Therapy Services in 2019, I was afraid that outpatient prescribing would be too easy and boring.  The pandemic proved me wrong, and people were facing obstacles that had never been seen in the mental health community.  During my journey there, I realized that I would like to open a practice that is focused on the whole person’s well-being.

Right now Monarch Mental Health is going to be medication management and therapeutic services because it is just me.  I am hoping that my vision will come to life and I will expand into brick and mortar.  I would like to incorporate more expansive therapeutic services, a child psychiatric NP, nutritional services, and modalities of Eastern Medicine into practice, but this is not where I can start off!

I hope to continue meeting with familiar clients and am open to new faces who will grow with me on this journey.
